Bulletin Article for the Fourteenth Sunday of Ordinary Time (July 5, 2015)

I am so excited to be here. I am humbled to be following in the footsteps of some great priests. There are some things I’ll do better (golf, ride a skateboard, tennis, etc.) than my predecessors, but there are things I will need to grow in. So don’t be shy.

As I will probably say at Mass, I don’t cook. So if you don’t want me to starve, please invite me over for a meal.

I am so looking forward to having the school. I am excited to see what we can do to strengthen the knowledge of our youth about both the world and the One who created it. I am excited see what great things God has planned for us.

This Sunday people are wondering who Jesus is and where He came from. I was born in South Korea, was adopted and raised in Ames, Iowa. Now I realize that growing up in Iowa is considered a detriment, but hopefully together we can overcome it.

May God bless you and keep you,

Father Vogel
